Today's satellite phone report from Cameron (11 feb. 7:40pm PST):
"Temperatures down and winds up today. Quite a change. Only nine miles from gravel pit where I started.
Started the day by wrestling a fuel cannister for a full hour before I could finally remove the lid.
Exhausting work. Then did six miles very quickly but had to set up camp as my hands would not re-warm.
However, they are now okay. Beautiful PM last night: [*garbled*] stars, blowing snow like diamonds or
diamond dust in the wind."
