I love to meet people with bold dreams, and a few years ago I had the honour to meet Brian Jones (on the right), the co-pilot of the 'Breitling Orbiter 3', the first balloon to circumnavigate the Earth. For three weeks, Brian (an Englishman) and Betrand Piccard (A Frenchman) made the first nonstop circumnavigation of the the Earth by balloon, inhabiting a pressurized capsule; damned dangerous and very exciting business! What a great afternoon! I felt I'd met someone who deeply understood my dreams of struggling alone in the Arctic, in Winter. He suffered me to congratulate him and take yet another of thousands of publicity photos I'm sure he's endured since his historic 1999 voyage.
