  • I train for expeditions in my own way: I run, use free weights, use machine weights, swim, and occasionally drag a 200-lb log in my nearby Forest Park, here in Portland, Oregon. Right now (August 2006), I run, lift heavy weights at the gym, swim, and do a few other things; I used to chronicle these on an exercise log, but I'm too swamped with preparations to make that daily update: these are the busiest months of my life.

  • After a long run I like to completely wipe myself out
    by cranking out as many 'Sloths' as possible.
