In 2007 I began a three-Winter project to document the world of Winter sea ice on Alaska's North Slope, trekking on it one Winter, paragliding over it the next, and SCUBA diving under it in the final expedition. The expedition website has galleries, video clips, and updates, and can be used to track the expedition when I'm in the field. A narrative of my first trek will soon be published in The Best Travel Writing 2008.
